Highlights For Genesys Cloud License Types

More Control Over Answering Machine Detection
Released July 20, 2026

Administrators can now configure Answering Machine Detection timeout settings for outbound campaigns. This includes greater control over when call analysis timers begin and how long Genesys Cloud waits for detection to finish before taking action.

Why it matters: Answering Machine Detection is not a universal configuration. Detection accuracy, connection speed, campaign goals, and regional requirements can all influence how it should be configured. This update gives administrators more flexibility to balance those needs and improve the performance of outbound campaigns.

Customizable Inactivity Timeouts for HIPAA Enabled Organizations
Released July 27, 2026

Organizations with the HIPAA setting enabled can now customize the inactivity timeout period within Genesys Cloud. Administrators can choose a shorter or longer timeout based on their security policies and operational workflows.

Why it matters: A fixed timeout may not work well for every healthcare organization. This update provides greater flexibility while allowing each organization to determine the session behavior that best supports its employees, security standards, and compliance requirements.

Organizations remain responsible for ensuring their configuration complies with HIPAA and any other applicable regulations.

Feature Requiring Genesys Cloud CX 3

Automatically Segment Interaction Transcripts
Released July 20, 2026

Administrators and supervisors can now use generative AI to organize an interaction transcript into meaningful sections, such as the greeting, customer complaint, troubleshooting, and resolution.

The result is a structured outline that works much like chapters in a book. Supervisors can select a section and move directly to that part of the conversation.

Why it matters: Reviewing a long transcript can take significant time. Transcript segmentation helps supervisors, quality teams, and contact center leaders quickly understand how a conversation progressed and focus on the moments that require attention.

Genesys AI and Agent Copilot Updates

Use Custom Attributes to Filter Agent Copilot Knowledge
Released July 6, 2026

Administrators can now configure Agent Copilot knowledge filtering to use conversation custom attributes as customer context. These attributes can work alongside existing knowledge labels and categories to determine which information Copilot presents to an agent.

Why it matters: Agents need information that matches the customer and the current situation. Custom attribute filtering can improve the relevance of suggested articles without requiring administrators to create and maintain separate knowledge structures for every possible context.

Improved Conversational Understanding for Knowledge Searches
Released July 13, 2026

Agent Copilot can now use enhanced conversational understanding to determine when a knowledge search is needed and apply context from the conversation to create a more relevant search query.

Agents can also view the query Copilot used to retrieve its suggestions.

Why it matters: Better context can lead to better search results. This enhancement can reduce unnecessary searches, improve the relevance of suggested knowledge, and help agents find answers more efficiently while they are assisting customers.

Intent Health Insights for Agent Copilot
Released July 20, 2026

Agent Copilot now provides intent health scores and recommendations at the utterance level. These insights can help administrators identify intent conflicts, outlier utterances, and other training data issues that may reduce accuracy.

Recommendations are prioritized based on their potential impact.

Why it matters: Improving intent performance can involve reviewing large amounts of training data. Intent health insights help administrators identify where to begin and focus their effort on the changes most likely to improve accuracy.

What These Updates Mean for Your Contact Center

The July releases give Genesys Cloud customers more control over system behavior and more practical ways to use AI.

Organizations can now:

• Fine-tune answering machine detection for outbound campaigns

• Align inactivity timeouts with internal security requirements

• Review interaction transcripts more efficiently

• Provide agents with more relevant knowledge

• Improve intent accuracy through prioritized recommendations
