How to Choose a Genesys Cloud Implementation Partner in the US
Ten questions to ask every partner, the red flags to watch for, and what support should look like after go live.
- EliteGenesys partner
- Genesys CloudOur only platform
- 100%US based engineers
- 15+ yearsAverage engineer tenure
Choose a Genesys Cloud partner whose own certified, US based engineers implement your environment and then support it, with no subcontracting. Ask who answers the ticket after go live, what the first 90 days look like in writing, and how they bring AI into production. The best partners can show you what they did for a client six months after launch, not just on launch day.
Most Partner Guides Stop at Launch Day
Most buyers compare partners on certifications, project plans and price. Those matter. But the value of Genesys Cloud is created after go live, when routing gets tuned, AI goes into production and your team learns what the platform can really do.
So the most important question is not who can launch your contact center. It is who will still be there, and still improving it, a year later.
Our previous partner disappeared after go live. VDS did the opposite. They stayed engaged, helped us optimize, and showed us how to get real value out of the platform month after month.
Questions to Ask Every Genesys Cloud Partner
Ask every partner on your list the same ten questions, and get the answers in writing.
- Are the people who implement it the same people who support it?Ask for names. If a separate help desk takes over after launch, the people answering your tickets never saw your design decisions, and every issue starts with a re-explanation of how your environment works.
- How much of your team works only on Genesys Cloud? Many partners resell several contact center platforms, such as Five9, NICE, Talkdesk or Amazon Connect. Ask what share of their engineers work on Genesys Cloud every day. Depth on one platform shows up in design quality and in how fast issues get solved.
- Will you delegate or subcontract any of our project?Ask the partner to name every company that will touch your project, including offshore teams, contractors and white label support desks. Confirm each engineer is a full-time employee of the partner, and put the answer in the contract.
- Are your engineers certified on Genesys Cloud?Genesys certifies engineers through Genesys Beyond. Ask which certifications the people assigned to your project hold, not just how many the company has overall.
- Will a dedicated project manager guide us?A Genesys Cloud project touches IT, operations, workforce management and your CRM team. Ask who owns the plan, runs weekly status, tracks risks and keeps decisions moving, and whether that person stays through cutover and the first weeks live.
- What do the first 90 days after go live look like, in writing?Launch day is the start, not the finish. Ask for a written plan covering stabilization, tuning, adoption and the first business review, with names and dates.
- How will you handle telephony and integrations?Ask how the partner handles number porting, SIP trunks, single sign-on, CRM screen pops and lookups, data actions, APIs and AppFoundry apps. These edges are where most projects slip.
- What deliverables will we get?Expect requirements traceability, solution designs, test plans and a cutover runbook. If a partner cannot show you a sample of each, ask how they keep a project on track without them.
- How will you bring AI into production after launch?Virtual agents, AI scoring and agent assist rarely deliver on day one. Ask how the partner picks the first use case, sets a baseline and tunes AI over time, and who owns that work once you are live.
- Can we talk to references about what went wrong?Every project hits problems. Ask each reference what went wrong and how the partner fixed it. How a partner handles a bad week tells you more than a smooth launch story.
Warning Signs When Comparing Partners
Any one of these is worth a follow-up question before you sign.
- The partner cannot name who does each part of the work, or the support desk answers under another company's name.
- The contract allows subcontracting without your written approval.
- The partner resells several contact center platforms and cannot say how many engineers work on Genesys Cloud every day.
- The plan ends at go live, with nothing in writing for the first 90 days.
- A help desk you have never met takes over after launch.
- No one is named to run the project.
- References only talk about launch day, not what went wrong and how it was fixed.

What Every Genesys Cloud Implementation Should Include
Use this as a checklist when you compare proposals. If a partner leaves one of these out, ask why.
Discovery and design
Stakeholder interviews, documented requirements and a solution design you sign off on before the build starts.
Routing, flows and IVR
Queues, routing, Architect flows and self service built around how your business runs.
Telephony and integrations
Number porting, SIP, single sign-on, CRM integration, data actions and APIs.
Testing and cutover
Test plans, user acceptance testing and a cutover runbook so go live is predictable.
Training and adoption
Role based training for agents, supervisors and admins, so your team uses what you paid for.
Support after go live
Stabilization, 24/7/365 support and ongoing optimization from the team that built your environment.
Your Partner Went Quiet. Now What?
Many buyers are not choosing a partner for a new build. They already run Genesys Cloud, and the partner who implemented it has moved on.
Changing your partner of record does not require a reimplementation. Your configuration and data stay in place, and the new partner takes over support and optimization of the environment you already have.
A free Genesys Cloud health check is an easy first step. It is a 90-minute conversation with a senior engineer, with no system access and no sales pitch.
VDS has helped us get more out of Genesys Cloud than we ever expected. Their proactive support has been a game changer. I only wish we had worked with them sooner.

Choosing a Genesys Partner FAQs
Find certified partners in the Genesys Partner Finder. See more answers on our FAQs page.
Who are Genesys implementation partners in the US?
Genesys lists certified partners in its Partner Finder, which you can filter for the United States. US partners range from global system integrators to specialist partners. VDS is a US based Genesys Elite Partner in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and back-to-back Genesys Mid-Market Partner of the Year.
How do we know if a partner subcontracts the work?
Ask for the named team and who employs each person. Check whose name answers the support number and ticket portal. Then look for contract language that requires your written approval before any work is subcontracted.
Does it matter if a partner also sells other CCaaS platforms?
It can. Partners that resell several platforms split training and engineers across them, and their advice can lean toward whichever vendor fits their business. Ask what share of their engineers work on Genesys Cloud every day.
Can we change our Genesys partner of record without reimplementing?
Yes. Changing your partner of record does not require a reimplementation. Your configuration and data stay in place, and the new partner takes over support and optimization of the environment you already have.
How long does a Genesys Cloud implementation take?
Most take 3 to 12 months. The timeline depends on complexity more than size: the channels, integrations, and custom development in scope.
Does the partner need experience with our current platform?
It helps. A partner who knows your current platform, such as Avaya or Cisco, can capture everything it does today so nothing is missed in the move to Genesys Cloud.
What should a Genesys Cloud partner do after go live?
Ongoing administration, support, and optimization of your environment, ideally by the same team that implemented it, with business reviews tied to your KPIs.
